School Chaplaincies

Since 2001 there has been a progressive call from primary and secondary schools for the Churches to supply Chaplains. As of February 2005 we had Chaplains in fourteen primary schools and two secondary colleges. These schools are mainly concentrated along the Warburton Hwy, with a few in the north Eastern belt.
Most of the Chaplains are only able to work in the schools for one day per week due to restricted funding. Schools and Churches share funding, with two exceptions. The Upper Yarra Secondary College that has a fund raising committee and calls on local businesses for help, and Worawa Aboriginal College that has a chaplain who has Church and business support.

The following photos are of some of the Chaplains standing in front of their school signs.
